“Geometric Propagation” Exhibition
SVA Flatiron Gallery
This event has ended.
School of Visual Arts presents “BFA Computer Art, Computer Animation and Visual Effects Senior Thesis Projects: Geometric Propagation,” an exhibition of work by students in the BFA Computer Art, Computer Animation and Visual Effects Department, curated by faculty member Adam Meyers.
“This group of students raised the bar in terms of creativity and vision,” states faculty member Adam Meyers. “While these projects convey imagination, craftsmanship and storytelling, they also exhibit the students’ skills as mathematicians and technicians. Much like a painter with a blank canvas, computer art students begin with the void of space. In this void of space, geometric forms are used to create new worlds and characters. The installation uses space and geometry in its simplest form to convey their vision.”
Third- and fourth-year student portfolios will also be on view during the exhibition reception, and students will be present to discuss their work with visitors.
“ENCORE!,” a screening of thesis projects, will take place at the SVA Theatre, 333 West 23rd Street, on Friday, May 10, beginning at 5:00pm.
