Presented in conjunction with the exhibition, Warhol’s Jews: Ten Portraits Reconsidered, this lecture will examine the significance of Warhol’s series, Ten Portraits of Jews of the Twentieth Century. Tom Sokolowski will consider the Ten Portraits series in the context of historical models of similar portraiture—both religious and secular—and will also explore the relationship between this work with other series in Warhol’s oeuvre.
Tom Sokolowski is Director of the Andy Warhol Museum.
