"Seduction, Queer Visions of Masculinity" Exhibition
Underline Gallery
This event has ended.
Seduction, Queer Visions of Masculinity explores illusory attraction through the eyes of some of New York Cityʼs most accomplished and genuinely brilliant gay artistic talents on the erotic art scene today. The exhibitionʼs nearly 100 works of art, with drawings, photographs and paintings, provide a window into its creatorʼs inner world of sexuality. Each piece expresses the artistʼs
personal fantasy of sexual attractiveness - whether it is the magnetic charm of the guy next door, or a decidedly more unconventional erotic fascination.
Attraction - it can happen in a split second, a quick meeting of the eyes with a person who stays in your mind for hours or even days after your first glance. Who was that enchanting stranger? What would it be like to be together in more private circumstances - free to express the romantic intrigue that was shared in the moment? Seduction, Queer Visions of Masculinity explores illusory
attraction through the eyes of some of New York Cityʼs most accomplished and genuinely brilliant gay artistic talents on the erotic art scene today.
“My wife and I live and work in the West Village/Chelsea area and feel itʼs extremely important to be active members of our community,” says Patrick Sullivan, founder and director of P.J.S. Exhibitions. “The LGBT Community Center does great work throughout New York, and weʼre excited to help this organization continue to flourish.”
Artists are known to live at the cutting edge of various trends, many of which delve into the concept of beauty. Seduction, Queer Visions of Masculinity, offers a unique glimpse into emerging 21st century gay interpretations of the beautiful man and the very nature of seduction itself.
